01Get the roofer and solar installer aligned
For Woodley roof work involving solar panels, explain whether panels are being fitted, removed or reinstalled. Share the roof layout and both trades’ programmes. The scaffold provider needs the intended use and handling requirements, not simply the description roof access, before confirming an appropriate arrangement.
02Rear extensions can change access
If a conservatory or extension sits below the work, photograph it alongside the full wall or roof. Narrow side passages and garden gates also matter when carrying components to the rear. Explain access restrictions early, including any route that belongs to a neighbour and has not yet been agreed.
03Use the correct council guidance
A Woodley project may involve Wokingham’s highway licensing process if the scaffold affects a public route. Check the actual address and proposed footprint with the provider. A private driveway and a pavement have different permission questions, so include both in your site photographs rather than assuming the boundary.
